Alcohol, Tobacco and other Drug Abuse (ATODA) Program

ATODA Resources
"Every 15 Min" Event Flyer
The purpose of the ATODA committee is to promote wellness and healthy choices in the school setting.  The committee is comprised of representatives from the public and private schools in the district, along with a police liaison officer and a representative from the Recreation Department. Individual schools sponsor particular events in their schools.  The committee also plans district wide events such as speakers to address ATODA issues and the Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS).  The committee supports the district ATODA policy that you may view below. To the right are ATODA Resource links where you may view the survey results, receive notification of upcoming events, and find a committee contact person in the individual schools.

ATODA District Policy

It is the policy of the School District of Menomonee Falls that students and employees have the right to attend school and work in an environment that is free from the non-medical use of alcohol, drugs and mood-altering substances. These substances interfere with the learning environment of students and the performance of students and employees.

Possession, distributing, selling, or intending to sell any quantity of drugs, tobacco, intoxicants, look-alike drugs or drug paraphernalia while on school premises or involved in any school related activity, including contracted transportation, by students is strictly prohibited.

This policy does not prohibit the authorized use of prescription drugs or over the counter drugs, with written permission of the student’s parent/guardian and physician.

Students who violate this policy shall be subject to disciplinary procedure, which may result in expulsion.

This action will be taken in accordance with established procedures as well as referral to the appropriate law enforcement authorities.

The School District of Menomonee Falls will continue to maintain and support an AODA committee comprised of staff and community members. The role of this committee will be to promote the district policy and continue developing instructional programs for staff, students and parents to meet present and future needs related to the effects of drug and alcohol use. It is our belief that this policy needs the cooperation of administrators, staff, students and parents.
