SCHOOL COUNSELING PROGRAM (Academic - Career - Social)

"Helping the students of our community flourish academically and socially to pave a path for their future."

Counselors Help Students

The purpose of the counseling program in a school setting is to promote and enhance the learning process. The goal of the program is to enable all students to achieve success in school and to develop into contributing members of our society. School counselors are committed to providing the advocacy and accountability necessary to improve school achievement for all students.

The school counseling program in the School District of Menomonee Falls School District is a partner in student achievement. The school counselors are here to help the students acquire academic, career, and social development.
A school counselor is a person who is professionally trained to help students realize their potential as unique individuals. For this reason, all students have school counseling services available to them.

Guidance Programs
  • INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING - helps students resolve or cope constructively with their problems and developmental concerns.

  • SMALL GROUP COUNSELING - involves a counselor working with 5-8 students. Students are able to share ideas, give and receive feedback, increase their awareness, gain new knowledge, practice skills, and think about their goals and actions. General topics are related to personal and academic development.

  • CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION - is a planned developmental program of activities in the classroom designed to foster students’ academic and emotional needs.

  • CONSULTATION - is a collaborative partnership in which counselors work with parents, teachers, administrators, and the pupil service team to plan and implement strategies to help students be successful in school.
